Tiny and intimate setting but the the fabulous food, personal service and lovely chat with Dennis who came out of the kitchen made for a big night! Well worth a visit.
Welcome to Chez Denis, a family run Caribbean French Creole Restaurant in the centre of Norwich
Hello, I’m Denis Rosembert and this is our family business. Together we run a French Caribbean restaurant located at 2/3 Orford Yard Red Lion Street Norwich NR1 3TB, in Norwich City centre.
We have a six bedroom Guest House in Norwich near The Royal Norfolk Show Ground, on the Dereham Road,(76 Dereham Road Easton Norfolk NR9 5EJ). There are 4 Golf courses nearby, Costessey, Barnham Broom, Wensum valley golf club and Bawburgh golf club. There also fishing Lake nearby, Barford Lake.
Our location is excellent for shows at The Royal Norfolk Show Ground. Such events as The agricultural show, The Sundown Concert, many antique shows throughout the Year, the police gala and more.
The holiday apartments we have are, in the Caribbean island of St Lucia and two in Nice, Cote d’azur. Both the apartments in St Lucia and Nice offer an experience of a lifetime.
I have been catering since 1973 and was trained on the Creole-French island of St. Lucia, West Indies, the home of my holiday villa, Le Chateau Chez Denis.
At Chez Denis we are able to cater for your dietary needs – Coeliac (food intolerance such as yeast or wheat) – please enquire for more details.

Our family had a most splendid lunch in this fine establishment today. Denis was funny and friendly, the food delicious and generous, and the surroundings simply delightful. Very highly recommended.
My husband and I just enjoyed a romantic meal for 2 on a Saturday night at Chez Denis. It is quite small, but there is room between the tables. It has nice décor, showing artefacts from St Lucia. I had a superb steak in a pepper & cream sauce and my husband a lovely Creole chicken curry. Both came with... More
We were a group of seven friends and were treated to an excellent meal in nice surroundings and attentive staff. Subtle blends of spices created superb flavours in all three courses.
Excellent lunch time meal. We think Denis cooks from the soul, bringing the flavours of his native St Lucia to the meals. Really great creole salmon dish and partner enjoyed his chicken curry. He does the absolutely best creme brulee I have ever tasted. After one, you really need another! Please try it if on the menu. Partner reckons the... More
The full breakfast here is really good and made from quality ingredients. Staff are friendly and efficient, good value for money.
I went here with my family for my 25th birthday last weekend. There were 8 of us - my Dad's partner is vegetarian, and my fiance has a very severe allergy to wheat, and Denis was able to cater for all of us, without having to tweak the menu! I enjoyed the duck in a honey & brandy sauce, and... More
My son sent some suggestions of restaurants to try in Norwich during a short visit. We didn't get beyond the Chez Denis website because the menu was so appealing. Our visit for dinner didn't disappoint. Although the decor was more Norwich tea room than Carribean bistro, the service was prompt and friendly, the food authentic but not over-the-top spicy, and... I visited Chez Denis in a group of 6. The place is small and Denis is clearly visible working in the kitchen. The food was excellent. Full of flavour. The presentation was impressive and the vegetables were plentiful. The barracuda was one of the tastiest meals I have had and the bread and butter pudding recommend by Denis himself was... More
This restaurant I feel is very nice for a family, the owner is very polite and friendly and always makes our family feel welcome. What I look forward to most when I eat here is the prawns that they have for starters, very yummy!! I haven't explored much else off the menu besides chicken creole which is very tasty and... More
