We had a brief overnight stop at a local hotel/spa for our anniversary but wanted to eat out in Norwich itself...we chose Chez Denis as it seemed so different to anything we'd ever been to before...Location is little strange, but feels more of a well kept secret...it was smaller than I expected from the website which made it look quite... Welcome to Chez Denis, a family run Caribbean French Creole Restaurant in the centre of Norwich
Hello, I’m Denis Rosembert and this is our family business. Together we run a French Caribbean restaurant located at 2/3 Orford Yard Red Lion Street Norwich NR1 3TB, in Norwich City centre.
We have a six bedroom Guest House in Norwich near The Royal Norfolk Show Ground, on the Dereham Road,(76 Dereham Road Easton Norfolk NR9 5EJ). There are 4 Golf courses nearby, Costessey, Barnham Broom, Wensum valley golf club and Bawburgh golf club. There also fishing Lake nearby, Barford Lake.
Our location is excellent for shows at The Royal Norfolk Show Ground. Such events as The agricultural show, The Sundown Concert, many antique shows throughout the Year, the police gala and more.
The holiday apartments we have are, in the Caribbean island of St Lucia and two in Nice, Cote d’azur. Both the apartments in St Lucia and Nice offer an experience of a lifetime.
I have been catering since 1973 and was trained on the Creole-French island of St. Lucia, West Indies, the home of my holiday villa, Le Chateau Chez Denis.
At Chez Denis we are able to cater for your dietary needs – Coeliac (food intolerance such as yeast or wheat) – please enquire for more details.

considering some of the other reviews maybe i just went on a bad day, but the food at lunch time was just AWFUL? the salad nicoise was not like any other i had ever eaten, and the chef had clearly never been to france. the eggs were poor quality, the vinaigrette dressing insipid, the tuna warm. the baked potato had... This was our first visit to Chez Denis. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the monkfish and can't fault how it was cooked. The creme brulee was the best I've ever had. Will definitely visit again. It's a very small, intimate restaurant with a lively atmosphere. The owner is very charming.. One of the best... More
The food here is excellent. The staff are kind, attentive and genuinely care about whether you are enjoying you meal. The only down side is the venue, the restaurant is situated in a small building which used to be a cafe. There aren't many tables and despite the best efforts of the staff, it is difficult to create atmosphere. That... More
This is our fourth visit to Chez Denis - we love it. The food is great and very different from other places we have eaten in here in Norwich. We look forward to the next family occasion and an excuse to go again! The creme brûlée is to die for! Thank you Denis.
We visited Chez Denis in July and were very disappointed. The house wine was a brand found in corner shops for less than £5 and just 10.5%. I had soft shell crab which was chewy and watery followed by monk fish. The flavour was ok but nothing special and the texture a bit odd and again watery. My friend the... More
I visited Chez Denis not long ago for a mid week meal whilst visiting Norwich. I took advantage of the theatre meal offer which was two courses for 18 pounds before 7.30. The meal was lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant very welcoming. I had avocado and prawns to start and then a nice Creole chicken stew for my... More
Myself & other half visited the restaurant on 29th August after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We were greeted by friendly faces and sat down to our table immediately. It is a small restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Our starters were delicious - I had prawns which had a hint of chilly and tasty sauce. The mains were very... More
Host/owner charming but found the restaurant had a fried food aroma! Food was acceptable but felt the quality was what most people could serve at home and the price tag was expensive.
Visiting Norwich and looking for a nice restaurant and found a gem of a place. I'm not sure there are many that will beat this. We had prawns and chicken as a starter and the sauces that came with them were amazing. Main course was chicken curry and filet steak - both amazing dishes and the steak was served with... More
