I visited Chez Denis not long ago for a mid week meal whilst visiting Norwich. I took advantage of the theatre meal offer which was two courses for 18 pounds before 7.30. The meal was lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant very welcoming. I had avocado and prawns to start and then a nice Creole chicken stew for my... More

I have been catering since 1973 and was trained on the Creole-French island of St. Lucia, West Indies, the home of my holiday villa, Le Chateau Chez Denis.

Myself & other half visited the restaurant on 29th August after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We were greeted by friendly faces and sat down to our table immediately. It is a small restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Our starters were delicious - I had prawns which had a hint of chilly and tasty sauce. The mains were very... More
Host/owner charming but found the restaurant had a fried food aroma! Food was acceptable but felt the quality was what most people could serve at home and the price tag was expensive.
Visiting Norwich and looking for a nice restaurant and found a gem of a place. I'm not sure there are many that will beat this. We had prawns and chicken as a starter and the sauces that came with them were amazing. Main course was chicken curry and filet steak - both amazing dishes and the steak was served with... More
When I revisit Norwich I will definitely dine here again. Denis is good fun and his family who were dining here next to us as it happens were interesting to chat to. I have slight reservations about the food - did not think my scallops were any better than ordinary considering the price - fresh or frozen? The mutton curry... More
My husband and I was just looking for somewhere for a light lunch when we discovered the delightful Chez Denis! The menu was extensive, we chose just a Ham & Cheese ploughman's, it was the best ever! especially with a lovely glass of wine! We shall certainly return. The prices, very reasonable, can't wait to try another of their choices.The... More
Chez Denis is an excellent family run business, with a friendly feel and a bistro atmosphere. The food is exceptional, different and tasty. The menu has such variety and caters for all tastes. We can't recommend it highly enough, we shall be going again!!! My only criticism is that one less table would have meant a more comfortable dining experience... More
Picked the restaurant partly on the Tripadvisor rating (high), and partly to try the Caribbean / French food. Went on a Wednesday evening(closed Tuesday) and it was almost full with a terrific atmosphere. Food, service and welcome by the owner was first class. All-in-all good value for money. Location is in a quiet cul de sac in centre of town... More
The owner was really accommodating but unfortunately we found this restaurant to be somewhat overpriced. Restaurant was dead as a do do mid-week (Thursday) which was surprising as it's late night shopping. Perhaps they could consider doing some kind of special to get people in as the atmosphere was really lacking. I was really looking forward to visiting here after... More
Luckily happened upon this brilliant restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to eat in Norwich on a Saturday night and not knowing the place. Delightful staff and atmosphere, delicious food and drink and, it's true, this is the best creme brulee in the world! Pity it wasn't open on Sunday or we'd have been back. Definitely worth more than one visit!
